Oklahoma forward discusses CU visit

Creighton had a few visitors from the 2017 class last weekend, and among them was 6-foot-8 forward Brady Manek from Harrah, Okla. Manek a three-star recruit, is ranked No. 138 in the 2017 Rivals 150. Manek certainly enjoyed his weekend on the hilltop, he said in an interview this week.
"It was really cool. I had a lot of fun and everyone was really nice and inviting. We took a tour of the school and facilities and scrimmaged while I was there. The scrimmage went well even though I'm coming off an ankle injury. The campus was great and the facilities are very nice, especially the CenturyLink Center."

Manek currently holds offers from Creighton, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Mercer and Santa Clara. Oklahoma is the only other school to which he has taken an unofficial visit thus far. The more exposure Manek gets, the more offers are going to come his way.
"I'm always open and can shoot the ball pretty well," he said. "I can also jump pretty well."
There is no doubt about Manek being able to jump if you take a look at the video at the bottom of this page, but Manek has plenty of things to work on before being ready for college basketball.
"I have got to get better defensively and, really, get stronger."
Manek is 6-foot-8, but he currently only weighs about 185 pounds, so adding some weight and strength will be a big priority for him. He plans on doing that before he gets to college.
"I want to go to a school where I'm going to get to play," he said. "I don't want to sit the bench. I'm looking for a place that I feel welcome."
Manek's frame and shooting ability remind some of former Bluejay great Doug McDermott as a freshman, who Manek got to meet on the visit. Manek may be from a smaller town, but he's definitely a high-major player who the Jays would love to have.
