Big man looking at Shooter U

A near-seven-footer fitting the mold at "Shooter U?" Big man Lucas Siewert happens to be one of Creighton's top targets in the 2016 recruiting class. The 6-foot-1o high school senior-to-be is a four-star recruit and ranked No. 131 in the Rivals150.
Siewert is a former Arizona State commit, but he has re-opened his recruitment with the firing of ASU coach Herb Sendek. Siewert has no shortage of suitors - Creighton, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Washington State, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada, UC Irvine and Boston College are among the schools showing the most interest right now in the big Brazilian.

According to his high school coach William Middlebrooks, Siewart is familiar with Creighton.
"Lucas knows coach Murphy and has spoken with coach McDermott," Middlebrooks said. "Plus, Lucas has been given a presentation about the University by some of the staff members."
Lucas obviously liked what he heard and plans on visiting in September. Being 6-foot-10 is always going to get college basketball coaches' attention, but Siewert's game might be a little different compared to other big men.
"Lucas is an elite shooter that can put the ball on the floor," his coach continued. "His back-to-the-basket game and rebounding is constantly improving."
We know that the Jays will take elite shooting at any position. Siewart will get even more work during a busy summer ahead of him playing against some of the top competition in the nation. He'll be heading to play on the Adidas Circuit in Atlanta and will participate in the Adidas All-American Camp, according to Middlebrooks.
Although Siewert has a lot of schools after him, he plans on taking his time and expects to start making visits in the fall. Many schools are going to be fighting to be one of the few schools that Siewert chooses to visit. Creighton always likes to find guys that can shoot, but not very often does that ability come in such a big frame. Look for the Jays to pursue him heavily.
